Company Profile
How Polar Express Transportation Ltd. was born:
My personal background in transportation started in 1989. I owned and operated a 3/4 ton van picking up and delivering freight throughout Vancouver, BC and area. Over the next nine years I increased the size of the truck I owned in small stepps up to a tractor/trailer unit similar to those of Polar Express Transportation Ltd. Over this time I learned the business and realized how important customer service is. Seeing a need for a carrier that provided top-notch service in the Seattle to Vancouver corridor, Polar Express Transportation Ltd. was born.
Starting January 2000 with one 10 ton and one tractor/trailer we began hauling refrigerated goods to/from Seattle/Tacoma, WA and Vancouver, BC. Using this foundation we have grown to become the West's best choice for handling refrigerated goods moving between the US and Canada. Our customer comes first philosophy has allowed us to expand into five tractors, six trailers, and a 5000 square foot warehouse with immediate plans to expand to an additional 10000. Our future goal is to be in a new 30000 square foot facility by 2002. Providing our customers with the best in transportation, distribution, and storage is our number one goal.
Personal Profile:
My name is Jamie Plowman, founder and general manager of Polar Express Transportation Ltd. My wife, Tamalin and I live in Walnut Grove (Langley, BC), five minutes away from our warehouse. We have two daughters, Cassidy and Hannah. In my spare time I enjoy a variety of activities with my family such as swimming, biking, hiking, and playing board games. My favorite pastime is mountain biking. We often travel as a family to various mountains around BC and Alberta where I compete in bike races. I enjoy mountain biking because it challenges my body and my mind and is a great way to unwind after a long week.
Thank you for your time,
Jamie Plowman
